What's your schedule?
Our preschool runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM from mid-September through mid-May. We also offer an hour extension to our day called Preschool Kids Club that runs from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Monday - Thursday.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Our preschool offers classes from 1K - 4K. Children are placed in classes based on their age by September 1st of the current school year.
What do I need to know about closings and delayed starts?
Spring Valley Baptist Preschool follows the Richland School District Two calendar for school closings and weather-related closings. If Richland School District Two closes, our preschool will be closed. If Richland District Two has a delay to the start of school, our preschool will be closed. On days that Richland District Two has early release for elementary and middle Schools, our preschool will be closed for our preschoolers and will be a teacher workday for our employees.
What do I need to know about your teachers?
Our teaching staff is committed to creating a nurturing Christian environment where every child is known, loved, and encouraged as they learn and grow. All our teachers have completed an employment application, interview process, and have a clear background check.
Does my child need to be able to walk?
For the safety and well-being of all children, children enrolled in our one-year-old classes must be walking independently before attending preschool.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
Children entering our three-year-old and four-year-old classes must be fully potty-trained in accordance with regulations related to our classroom space and facilities.
What is your learning approach?
We believe in a "learning through play" approach. Young children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
What curriculum do you use?
We use a curriculum called ABCJesusLovesMe, a Christ-centered curriculum that meets children at their appropriate age and developmental level. Through purposeful activities and caring instruction, we seek to help each child grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.
What happens if a class is full?
We receive many inquiries from potential preschool families, so it is important to remember that enrollment is on a first come first served basis. A waiting list is available when each class is full.
